You do make good points, I like to start with the easiest things first, (i'm sorta optimistic like that)

I'm lening toward the DDM myself. I would also like to see him answer the other questions.

1. If you've removed the door panel to check connections.
- No I have not, I haven't got to Autozone. Although I think I may run my car to Sears tomorrow.

2. What the trim level of your car is.
- Too be honest, I inherited this from my father, so I have no idea what you mean by this.

3. Whether the backlighting works on the driver door controls.
- Yes it does.

I did not understand what you meant by "the adjust mirrors switch and know doesn't work". What did you mean by this?
- The switch on the drivers door that you use to adjust the mirrors.

What type of remote started did you have installed?
- The one that came with the car. [/b][/quote]

Trim level refers to SE, SLE or SSEi.

The Bonneville never came with an OEM remote starter, so for now we'll have to go with an unknown aftermarket brand.

When you have an opportunity, I would certainly pull the door panel and check the connections. I`m not too hopeful that this is your problem though.

I'm leaning towards a bad DDM or driver door switch console. Both are a few bucks to replace and it would be much better if we could determine where the prolem actually is before spending a bunch of money. It is possible to test the switches with a multimeter and the knowledge to use it. How are you from a technical standpoint?

Oh! I appologize, I don't have the remote starter, I have the remote unlock/lock, open trunk and sound alarm one.

I think its the SE.

Okay. If your fog lights are towards the centre (about half way between the license plate bracket and the outside of the car) then you'll have an SLE or SSEi but if they are towards the outside (right in front of the tires) it'll be an SE.

How about the multimeter?

I have to correct myself, I replaced the Master switch not the DDM, and the Master switch console is the one that is around 80.00.

Does the master switch console operate the other windows, individually??

Tim,

If you want to solve your problem, you need to stay on track. When you are asked questions, you need to answer them. ALL of them. What you are doing is answering questions that haven't been asked and NOT answering the questions that have.

This thread is all over the map. The people that are responding are very competent. They can only help if you don't go off on different tangents. If you keep making it so difficult, many will just stop replying.

Check the name on the thread, its Ottoman 89, not me. I merely corrected a statement I made that may have caused some confusion. You may want to pay a little more attention to who the author is. And yes I am very well aware that the people that are responding are competent.

I, Tim, asked this question to Ottoman89, wondering if his master switch console operated the windows individually?

Bonnevillemac ( not Ottoman89)
