Default 2001 Bonneville SSEI SC....exhaust problems?

I'm in desperate need. I've been having a lot of problems with my car. It started close to the first of the year. My car would kind of stutter mainly going up hills, then on straight stretch.I was told it was the cat converter. Had it changed. It was still doing it. changed the plugs and wires. Went back and the guy put another cat on it. said the last one he put on was a magnum flow ob2. 2 1/2 diameters. it was better for a couple weeks or so and went back to running bad (hesitation) had a diagnosis ran and it came back misfire in cylinder 4 and the cat. so i had the plugs and wires changed again, with the best auto zone sales. and the diagnosis and plugs and wires was done today. and it still has a hesitation to it. i've already put near $500. so can someone please help me with the actual problem of my car [/code]

What are the actual symptoms.

Hesitation, bad mileage, chugging, clogged exhaust?

If you pull some spark plugs..how do they look?

tennessee4life:
How many miles are on the car?

Bill:
It sounds like it could be a dirty fuel filter. Would bad o2 sensor cause this to happen as well?

Also, what brand plugs and wires were used?

Definite possibility on the fuel filter. Also might want to verify the fuel pressure at the rail. If it has 50K or more, may want to try doing the GM top engine cleaner also. Just be sure to do that outside, and a windy day is better to get rid of the smoke involved.

It has 110,00 miles. Bosch plugs and Delco plugs which were changed again yesterday. And I had the fuel filter changed on it back early spring. I guess it'* more a chugging...some say surging...

Is that Bosch plugs, and Delco wires? If it is in fact Bosch plugs, that could very well be at least part of your problem. Bosch plugs do not last very long in our type of ignition system. Also, stay away from platinum plugs of any brand. They don't do well in a supercharged engine.
