2000 SSEI squeeky sound
Got a chirping sound coming from some where like SC-pulley, alternator or something. Is really noticeable when revving the engine. Very annoying. Are there any lube points - or what'* wrong? Any ideas?
only have 35k on it.

Had the same problem. It didnt start until the weather got cold. There was a squeeking from the pull/belt area when the engine was cold. I thought it was the pulley on the SC. I sprayed some silicon lubricant on the belt just to make sure. Bang, noise was gone. Its only been about a week but the problem is gone. I dont know it'* the tension or the way the belt is riding in the pulley on the SC. But the sound is gone- Silicon spray is the best!
Just dont get me started on the Window motor or the grinding sounds now. Hope this helps.

I noticed mine after the exhaust change.
It seems to be only in the morning when cold.
My wife told me, "Thats an American car. Lots of bells & whistles"
It'* not really a whine, it sounds kinda like right before the Jetta water pump died!
It always stops after a little while, still freaks me out!
It used to be so quiet!
Boost, and Away !!

Unfortunately the squeak came back. Definitely coming from the SC pulley. It increases in pitch and speed when giving it gas. After the car warms up the problem goes away.
How do you tell if you have a bad tensioner?
