Hello all. I bought a 2000 SSEi a few months back, Just had the trans redone. They replaced some solenoids and they told me they front mount is broken.

Looking at some pics and it looks like a fairly easy replacement.

Any tips on for a smooth replacement?

Is a stock mount the best solution or is there a better after market fix?

Stock will be fine. You will need to support the engine by jacking up from below. Then remove the bolts from the engine/transmission and the sub frame. The trans cooler lines run along there. Might get a little tight working in there. Oh ya, you will have to remove the bottom splash guard.

Not a problem. The hammer is for getting the stubborn bolts loose.

It'* one nut top and one bottom. The best replacement would be something different than a marshmallow (aka stocker). Many folks use hockey pucks as suitable replacements.

Funny you say this today. Sawgunner is here and his marshmallow is getting replaced tomorrow.

I did mine last weekend and one thing I ran into- I had to remove the bracket bolted to the trans- the one w/ the 3 bolts. I could not get it out, lacked a 1/4" more- other than that- it'* a 5 min job.
Car drove amazingly better too- I really noticed the difference. Engine isn't flopping around anymore- nice feeling.

Ya, a real hockey puck, you will need to trim it down to size.

Did Sawgunners yesterday.

1 7" bolt 1/2" diameter
3 hockey pucks (1/2" holed drilled in the center of each)
Few washers
2 nuts

That'* all we need to do these mounts. No trimming is necessary, you guys have enough room to park a Yugo in the front of the car.
