Default 2000 SSEi exhaust

I was looking under the SSEi today and noticed that its exhaust is identical to my car'*. Now my question is, what kinds of exhaust mods are you guys doing? anything that will work on a 2000 + Bonneville is going to work on my car. I've noticed there are what looks to be 3 seperate mufflers under the car. OR, are the two nearest the exhaust pipes the actual mufflers and the larger one by the converter is a resonator or something? If so, if you remove the largest 'muffler' (?resonator?) and put a straight pipe through there will it make the car that much louder, and also, will it give you a performance gain? The riv is extremely quiet and it'd be nice to hear a little bit of exhaust to it. You can't hear anything right now. I'd rather go this route and have it a little bit louder than installing something like a flowmaster muffler (too loud.) I don't want the car that much louder, just a little bit. thanks guys!

It has a resonator running to 2 mufflers. You can remove the resonator, but I don't think it does anything for performance, and makes it a little louder, and you have a lot more drone. There are no exhausts available for these cars (as you probably already know), but you can basically put on any muffler and pipe that you want.

I recently (1 week ago) had my exhaust replaced due to a rear end accident. I have a 2002 SE. It came stock with a single exhaust. OEM to replace it was $930.00. I took it to a Midas dealer and they dualed it out from the cat on back for a total coinage of $801.00. The sound is one notch up from the stock quiet sound. The resonator was damaged and replaced with a glass pack resonator. I was told that if the resonator is removed it increases the noise in the car.
