Default 2000 ssei

Hi I am picking up a 2000 ssei well maintained it has been parked in a garage for just over a year the owner went to move it and it would crank but would not start so he assumed it was the fuel pump so he left it. I went to look at it he put a battery I it and again it would crank but not start, and I could hear the fuel pump coming on. My best guess is cps but I do remember the security light flashing , any direction would be great love this car and always wanted one. Thanks Mark

Pull a plug wire and see if you are getting spark when the engine is turning over. If you have spark, borrow a fuel pressure gage from a parts store and check fuel pressure. Check to see if the air filter is plugged. Spark, fuel and air are the necessary ingredients for combustion ... one of them is missing.

Getting fuel at the rail is not a good enough indication of fuel pressure. Please follow the advice I gave you.

Good find. That is why I wanted you to check for spark.

How many miles are on it? Like you I've wanted one since they hit the showroom in 2000 and didn't manage to make it happen. I looked for one for couple years around 05 or 06 and nobody wanted to give one up. Well last year I found 2 online, one hard top and one with sunroof, hard top had 60,000+ with a new 4lb supercharger, the other had 90,000 But it was a one owner, a 62 yr old woman who paid cash for it off the showroom floor, it never was always garaged both at home and at her work. Needless 2 say I snatched it. Since I've updated to a 12lb supercharger as well as a 6lb turbocharger. Needless to say it ain't hard to bottom out that 140 speedo its got. Thinking on a chip next since from what I'm told its that or a NOS setup, after that its all lower end and that really gets into big $$. But my ultimate goal is to find another that looks identical n leave it pretty much stock and switch them and out when in out looking for a run, roll one cruzin and switch out come run time.loll Good luck bro

there is about 180.000km on it I am not driving it yet as I have to do brakes and tires so I am just poking away at it as I get extra cash and time. And yes I have always loved the 2000-05 body and have been looking for one for quite some time now and I love the 3.8 supercharged great long lasting engines, there are not many around anymore, in my area I have only seen 4 driving and 3 in a wrecking yard.I am hoping to be driving it soon. Thanks
