Default 16 to 17in wheels

I have 5 bonnevilles in my family all 2000-2002. 3 kids in college. 3 ssei 2 se. The 16 inch wheels fit on the SSEI but Im guessing there isnt much room in there . Has anyone had any issues with 16s on a 17in ? tx One SSEI also blows hot always on AC.Are the accuators all the same?

Both wheels will fit fine, but you will need to check the tire hight. If there'* a difference the speedometer will be off a bit.

As for the heat, check to make sure the actuator is moving. If not it may just be a vacuum problem. There'* a vacuum line that comes off by the throttle body and then enters the wire loom. It comes out behind the engine on the passenger side a connects at the firewall. These get brittle and break off. Check that.

16" wheels will fit on the SSEi but there will not be much room between the calipers and the rims on the front.

as for the actuators yes they are all the same depending on which HVAC system each car has. if you have the basic HVAC controller then you will be missing some of what is on the Advanced HVAC controller. if all cars have the same HVAC then you are golden.

My 97 came stock with 16s. But, the 2000+ might have a little bit larger brakes, so like Steve said, it might be tight.

Can you get at the passenger accuator easily from behind the glove box

I had a car here a while back, a Grand Prix, but basically the same thing. He had only cold air, I took the glove box liner out to get to the control module, it wasn't working. I switched 2 hoses and that moved the air mix actuator and he had heat. Then he would have to switch in in summer to get cold air. So if the mix actuator isn't moving, you could do that to get you by for now.

Where in Wisconsin are you located?

There'* a good chance your 16'* will be fine.

My '97 is still riding on its factory 15" wheels, and there'* plenty of room for my calipers and rotors (all trims have the same brake hardware, at least 1992-99).

Thanks to all that replied . Its the first time ive tried this online discussion thing . Im from NW Wi. St. Croix Falls. I had 3 grand prix and 2 bonnevilles in the past and now ive gotten all 3 college kids into bonnevilles ,. They all have nicer ones than myself but O well. 145000 is the low miler of all. All are 2000-2002. I had a 91 that I had just over 300000 and i think I saw it still going. Im going to dig into my sons SSEI tomorrow to find out if I can locate the passenger heat/cool accuator and maybe put some 16in wheels on with some much needed snow biters.
