Default 00+ Gauge Cluster

Does Anybody know how to get the clear plastic lenses and the black inner gauge rings apart without damaging the plastic. I want to paint the inside to match dash trim and tried using paint thinner to loosen the glue but it didnt work

It comes apart in two pieces with screws and clips but I need to get the plastic lens off of the surround that makesthe guages seperate. It is glued together and I can not get them apart with out breaking it.

no I just want to paint the black plastic piece that is attached to the clear lenses. Not the actual gauge face.

in your first reply you you show the two pipeces. The clear lense is glued to the black plastic outlines,. The outlines is what I want to paint. I have already done all of the other pieces in metallic blue and that part is all that is left. It looks like crap being the only black piece. I am having a suede blue headliner, seat inserts and door panel inserts done. I just want to get everything blue that I can. It looks good but that will make it look great.

yes. I got some of the glue off in places and pulled and of course my luck it snapped. I ordered a new cluster from the dealer so I will see how the new one comes. Hopefully it is in two pieces.
