Default Wiper Motor Woes!

I had a CRACK in the Control Board of the wiper motor. I took off the cover and disconnected the 6- pin connector and got another wiper motor cover from a junkyard. It was then that I noticed the BLACK crescent shaped wheel that had CAUTION POSITION CORRECTLY stamped on the face with the words DRIVE and an arrow and PIN and an arrow also stamped on the face of this plastic "wheel". How do I PROPERLY position this "wheel" to get my wipers working again?
