On the 95 SSEi it has a "Mist" control option on the lever for the windshield washer arm left of the steering wheel. I doesn't work, I tried it over and over again with no luck. Keep in mind that I just got this car last year and didn't even know this option was available in these cars although I had it in the 90 SSE. The windshield washer works in the continuous mode but not the mist mode. Is it possible that it'* the wiper arm that'* the problem or is there a relay in the wiper motor that gets the signal from the arm? Or both?


For me the mist control is activated my applying pressure to the lever and pushing it towards you and should activate the windshield washer only while the lever is held, right?

on mine, the MIST button is pushed...not pulled... I think... now you have me wondering... I'll check it out on the way home from work.... but i'm a 2000

I believe if I push it away from me then it goes into a 5 second continuous spray mode, and that part works. When I pull it towards me, it has a spring action that will only spray as long as it is held, in other words you can spray it for only a second if needed, that part doesn' t work.

If I remember correctly, pushing mist quickly will yield the 5 second burst, pushing it and holding it a bit will spray however long you hold it, and pulling the Mist paddle will spray the headlights. at least that'* the setup on my 92

I dont believe I have the headlight mist, as a matter of fact i'm quite sure.

Gonna have to check tomorrow.

I just walked out to the garage and tried that on my 96 SSE and the push works. Pull does nothing.

yeah 96-99 as far as previous discussion on BC and personal, only has the forest fire fighting length misting option.

The mist function only actuates the wiper arms to clean a "mist" off the windshield. If you expect washer fluid you must activate the washers. There is no fluid supplied during the mist function, only wipers.

Hey lookey..I just fixed something on your car

PS..the fire fighting capability of the washer feature can be stopped by holding the washer feature for an extra quarter of a second then releasing. It will stop immediately.....once you get the hang of the holding technique.
