You should use belt grip spray made for that purpose to test for belt squeal.

I can't take the whining anymone.... What'* with the different ratings on different altenators? Anyone know a cheap place to buy one.... I'm finding $165 for a rebuilt.

You could search locally for a little shop that rebuilds starters and alternators. usually bearings/brushes run about $30 installed.

Advance is the next idea...although many here say their AC Delco remans aren't as durable. I have one..it'* working good. If you are in the area... I can get ya a discount.

KG9 - generator, 140 amp
KW2 - generator 124 amp
K68 - generator 105 amp

thoes are the ones that you car could have .....


I would suggest the 140 Amp AC delco as a replacement....i think its only around 160 with a core

Is the altenator itself marked? The $260 figure is a Delco from a GM Dealer.
