Default belt

You should use belt grip spray made for that purpose to test for belt squeal.

You could search locally for a little shop that rebuilds starters and alternators. usually bearings/brushes run about $30 installed.

Advance is the next idea...although many here say their AC Delco remans aren't as durable. I have one..it'* working good. If you are in the area... I can get ya a discount.

At $165 for a rebuild or $260 for a new GM, what, are they made of gold!

Is the altenator itself marked? The $260 figure is a Delco from a GM Dealer.
