Well ok maybe not that loud, but the transmission makes a whine that sounds like a blower belt. I have replaced the trans filter and oil. there was about .002 -.004 of sediment in the pan but the oil was not black or smelled burnt. the change made no difference. the car runs and drives fine but I fear it is almost the end of the transmission. whats a rebuild cost? this car has 157k on it. Do I need to refinance my house for a decent trans?what is normal life of a tranny for these?
