This sounds like a high pressure or High temp compressor cut out that lives in the back of the compressor... This switch wouls have needed to be removed from the old compressor and placed into the new compressor...
Was the old compressor returned as a core?

No I still have the old one, but the old connector disintegrated when I tried to pull it out.
I have what I believe is the correct part on order, it should be here today or tomorrow via fed-ex. I've concluded that it is a low pressure cut-off switch, which if the pressure drops too low, it will not allow the compressor to cycle.
Bill...How do i find out when my car was made? Is there a site that I need to go to and enter in my VIN? Thanks to everyone again for the help.
