Hmmm I guess my ssei didn't come with a tranny cooler cause I looked under the hood and couldn't find anything that looked like a cooler other than the radiator. Oh btw there is what looks like a sensor just in front of the radiator just below the license plate. Im not sure what it is. Also there is a little box with wires comming out of it right next to where the hood latches to.

That'* odd ?? no tranny cooler? was ur car ever in an accident ? cause they could have replaced the rad but not the tranny cooler . unless it is located in some other place on a 98 . BEATS ME ! and i think that sensor thing infront of ur rad would be for ur airbags .

95 or 96 was the last year for the SSE/SLE/SSEi tranny cooler. Probably 96, since the 4T65E-HD tranny made it'* debut in 97.

I would STILL install one. The added insurance is unquestionable, especially if you ever plan to mod. My rule of thumb is 180 stat and tranny cooler (even if you already have one.....check my sig.....) BEFORE ANY MODS!

If I ever mod anything it probably will be the exhaust next year after I get my bonus check from work. Other than that I'll wait till the warrenty I have expires in 3 years or 36000 miles. Probably be 3 years cause I maybe get 200 miles a month. Is it worth changing the oil every 3 months even If you don't put alot of miles on the car?

Yes, my feeling is that it does. It'* not necessarily the number of miles as much as it is the number of starts. Short trips are worse on the car than long ones, which is why they suggest every 3 months, even if you don't have 3000 miles yet.

The frequent oil changes can extend the life and performance of your engine, as the extra tranny cooler can extend the life of the transaxle. Heat and friction (byproducts of each other) are the enemy.

How much would it probably cost to have somebody put a tranny cooler in? I'm not very mechanically inclined so I probably not want to do it myself.

Cooler should run you about 40 bucks. I'd bet you could get a shop to do it for about 50 labor? Just a guess. Or we can talk you through it. I haven't met anyone yet that couldn't do it with a little teamwork!

I talked a couple guys through it right here while I was drunk one night.....

Im thinking the diagram is a 93 and the 95 section actually lists the right PN? If i order parts from the diagram it definitely wont work. IF you turn the cooler in the diag 1/4 turn clock wise thats how mine sits, then the cooler lines are completely changed in distance and in bends. hmmmmmm :?

WIll, when you got your second tranny cooler did you install it right next to the other? did you have to get custom lines made to fit?
