Default Water Pump Sound?

My water pump is starting to make a God awful noise now. It'* a weird noise, it'* hard to describe it without hearing with using words. I'm afriad to drive it now like this. Should I get that fixed right away.

Is it a noise similar to dragging a 5 pound block of steel on the sidewalk? Verify this. With a stethescope if necessary. I wouldn't drive it like that at all.

Now I'm scared, I've got 105,000 miles. I just lost my starter, am I gonna lose my water pump soon?

Or you can remove the belt and rotate the pulley by hand.

Yes it did sound like that metal sound. But I have to drive it to work, and it'* 15 min. away from my house. Today it did'nt make any noises. Does anyone know how much a new one will cost? I have 121,000 miles on my car now.

Water pumps are cheap. Not too bad to change yourself, either. About 30 bucks....is that right?

Yeah about 30 bucks. You have to remove a mount mount or is that just series 1 ?

Just to be sure it'* my water pump where'* it located. The noise is coming from the front passenger side. Is the water pump in the front of the engine?

Remove the belt and rotate the pulleys by hand, see if the water pump does not turn smoothly.
