Default Water Pump Leak

My Water pump is leaking.. now is this always gunna be a sign of a bad water pump or should I just go ahead and replace the gasket. It seems to cool good when I keep the coolant topped off..What should I do..?

I would suggest removing the pump and checking it and replacing the gasket if the water pump is good.

The water pump pulley and shaft should not have any lateral movement, or wobble. If it has any, it needs to be replaced. My experience has been, if the pump is leaking, it'* bad. Considering the amount of time and effort required to remove the pump (here'* a link to autozone'* instructions)

you may want to replace it once you get it off. First, be sure it is the pump that is leaking. As I recall, there is a bypass hose just above the pump that connects to a plastic fitting in intake manifold (I believe) that often cracks and leaks.
