Default Vacuum Line Sizes

I'm replacing lines, and I noticed that although the hoses were the same size, the hole on the new one was loose over the check valve.
Can I put a smaller hose on that fits it snug? Or do I have to run back to Auto Zone quick?

You can use a slightly smaller snug one..
