yes but that is not update 178,890. The vale gasket are leaking to. I am think of fix the car myself. This why I can save up some cash to put down on newer car thinking at this 02 + bonneville or grand prix. the parts should only cost $50. Do think this is good idea or just can it and get another car.

IMO do it yourself if you are capable of doing so and save the $$. Get the new Bonne or GP and keep the old Bonne for a beater type car. I would bet you wont get much on a trade-in.

I agree you should be able to do the gasket jobs yourself. Are we talking about the valve cover gasket, the head gaskets, or the intake manifold gaskets, or some combination of these? In general we have not seen head gasket failure in our engines, but intake manifold gaskets have failed all the time, and there is plenty of information and knowledgeable people here who can guide you through doing it yourself. If your oil leak is a valve cover gasket, by all means do that yourself.

Your car might run well enough then that you won't need to look for another one!

intake gasket and value cover gasket. Value cover is that hard esp if I am going to do the intake. If I do the intake I will need buy thorrtle body gasket, fuel injector gaskets. Obivous lower and upper gaskets. any thing else I will need for this process

That one injector needs a replacement. Or to be fixed up by a FI expert.
