two quick questions
On my 2000 ssei the drivers mirror there is an engraved rear defrost icon and im woundering if it should light up, i've been in cars that it does.
2nd with the auto climate control it seems like it always places the airflow to the floor. It was 10 below the other nite and it wasn't able to bring the temp to 70 degrees, after i changed it to come out of the vents it was able to reach 70 and the fan then slowed down.

Your defrost icon on the mirror won't light up.
Your climate control is different than mine, but I'd guess it would have been up to temp in time.....your interior temp sensor is up by the dash, the heat was all down low. Given time, it would have caught up.

I thought the newer ones had manual control of the vents. Yours won't do that?
Mine has no control. It puts it where it thinks it should be. Need somebody with a newer car to chime in here.

That'* the problem with the auto setting.
I only choose auto in the warmer summer months. Because the conditions are so variable in the winter here, I choose the manual setting of whatever MY brain thinks it should be.

I think the climate controls are the biggest customer gripe with the Bonnevilles. I'd like it to be more manual, but then sometimes, it'* nice to have in auto--no brainer mode. Imagine having mine, where you don't have ANY control over the vents except the ws defrost.

Actually the cli control on my 1993 Bonne sse was less operable than the 1 I have now. I like this one better because it has that "mode" button which allows me to put the flow where I want it.
