Default trying to program keyless FOB

Hi, i have a 1994, Buick Le Sabre, instructions say jump pin 8 to 4 of ODB port. i did this and the doors lock and unlock, then it says close door, which i did and it says doors should lock (THEY DONT)

I turn the key to on without starting, and they still dont lock, and i cannot program the fobs/

Can anyone help please?

thanks

Restart the procedure.
This time, when the doors lock, close the doors and INSTEAD, try pushing a button on your FOB. Let us know what how it goes.

Jumped pin 8 and 4, at this point doors unlock and lock again. I closed the door and then turned key to ON. nothing happens. Tried pressing a button, nothing, Tried holding down lock and unlock for 15 seconds nothing...

started again, this time when doors locked and unlocked, tried pressing a button, holding down lock and unlock.. nothing

started again this time doors locked and unlocked. I closed the door and tried pressing a button and then holding down lock and unlock. Nothing.

Not sure what i am doing wrong... any ideas?

Default Got it!

Got it!! so for anyone else who has this problem, you have to use a fused jumper.
put wire into port 4 and another into 8, hooked up an aligator clip to each (two seperate wires) then hooked the other end of each aligator clip wire to a 5 amp fuse. Voila, doors lock and unlock, but now i press unlock on the remote and the doors again lock and unlock. pushed unlock on the other remote as well, doors lock and unlock. Remove wires from ODB port.

and both remotes now work.

Thanks for the help Mike, i appreciate it.

I don't see what difference it makes if you use a fused jumper and a regular jumper. Both jumpers should see 0 ohms on a DVM. Anyway, glad you got it to finally work.

May not have had a good connection without the alligator clips.
