Default Trunk Lid Torsion Bars

I noticed a 96 Bonneville in the junk yard a couple of weeks ago and the trunk lid was held all the way open by the torsion bars in the hinges. So, I tried to close the lid and then let it go to see what would happen. It sprung right back up to the full open position. This is something my 98 doesn't do that I would like it to do. Anyone had any experience with swapping out the hinges/torsion bar assy?

Not to threadjack, but what about swapping them out? Mine is actually broken on one side, I'd like to replace it.
