I've got wet carpet and water in my 94 SSE trunk. I've tested the seals around the tail lights (they're fine). Any idea where the water is leaking from?

Sometimes condensation can build up on the underside of the trunk lid, and drip down. The carpet kit under the trunk lid solves this problem. Do you have one?

Where is it wet? Everywhere or just in certain spots like the wheel well ot by the jack kit?

GM NEWS ALERT! The cause of this problem was the rear window seal/seam leaking! I forgot about this one since it was so long ago! Check the seam under the rear window with the trunk raised! Pour a little water down the rear window & watch where it goes into the trunk! Reseal where need to!

My taillight seals looked fine also, but water was leaking around them anyway. Would only happen in a really hard rain. It also took me a while to find that leak, because the ole water hose trick didn't seem to work. I had to take it to a car wash.

I have a 92 SSEi, White with some gold accents, gray leather interior. In super shape except for the driver'* seat bolster. 133,000 with 83,000 on the recently installed motor. I did not realize how bad the old motor was -- the first time out, this one kicked me in the tail at about 1/2 to3/4 throttle!!!

I know that this post is kinda old but I thought I'd share my insights. I have a 94 SSE too, and about two weeks ago I went to make sure my spare had enough air in it, and discovered about two inches of stanky a** water in the groove that the spare sits in. So I soaked up the water and dried the carpet and put everything back in the trunk. To make a long story short I discovered it was the damn automatic car wash. Teach me for being lazy eh? Until reading this forum i didn't know how to fix it. I'll have to try that trick with opening the trunk and pouring water down the back window. I'll get back to ya!

I have a trunk leak that'* driving me crazy!! Filled up my spare tire well pretty good.
I noticed while pumping gas there was some air coming out from the driver side wheel well--inside the well area(don't ask me why or how!) so I pulled back the carpeting from around that area in the trunk and I could see the pavement!! Looks like the body welds are too far apart from each other--doesn't seem to be any prior damage-just looks like they didn't weld the panels together right--weird!

Sounds like your car was wrecked at one time and wasn't repaired properly.
