Update:
I finally got a warm garage to work in, was poking around under the hood, and found something, under the rubber hose between the airbox and the TB. This particular item had what appeared to be vacuum lines coming from it, and it was mounted via rubber mounts. Anyway, the plug, about 1.25" across, .25 thick, containing four terminals in a row - kinda looks like this from the bottom -> (0000)

This plug was completely detached. I hadn't been recieving any codes prior to finding this, but i plugged it back into the female plug clipped onto the part, and drove it the 25 some miles home without any lights. it seems to idle a bit smoother though...

My first thoughts were that this part was that PMV that willwren had referred to, but I haven't had a chance to test the TC yet, as there'* no bloody snow up here

Any feedback? I didn't have my book or any time to look it up, and couldn't tell off hand what the part actually is. I can take a pic of the device later today, if that will help.

I think you plugged your ELC compressor in. This controls the ride height of the rear of the car.

Go check your battery. It was probably unplugged because the air portion of your struts leaks and the compressor will kill your battery when the car isn't running by trying to fill leaking struts.

With an SSE it'* a very good chance. You seem to be optioned up. Did this thing you plugged in sit over the charcoal canister right up against the fender?...That is the compressor. If it was sitting on top of the transmission it was the cruise control.

SSE'* came standard with ELC.

In this pic, it'* the silver cap with screws and wires on top, just below and slightly to the right of the K&N sticker on my intake pipe.

i guess i'll leave it plugged in and see if my battery suffers... i haven't heard the thing kick in yet, despite having about 450 lbs of passengers in the back seat today.. has anybody heard of these things siezing up?

If it siezed up, the fuse would blow.

Turn on the inflator with the switch in the trunk. It should run.

mine was blown when i got my car was always trying ti figure out why it was dragging *** then i figured it out but that did not fix my prob i took it out and puled it apart and found the rod in it that actually runs the piston had ate its self then in the trunk i found a pinched line behind the rear seats who knows how long it was pinched but i just don't see any reason for it other than factory it was in a out of the way place it was pinched beneath a bolt that has no reason to be out other than to put it in on the factory line so you might try to get it running it all so helps firm up the rear and rides better now

Ok, let'* get back on the TC problem, and break out the ELC if it becomes a problem in a different topic.

The T.C. on my 95 Doesn't work. When you press the T.C. switch nothing happens. The light on the dash doesn't come on, nor do I worry about it. Tranny shifts fine, and it brakes well!
