Default trans noise

well sorry i havent been on here in a while due to some computer troubles. on the LSS the trans has been makeing a faint soft clicking nosie for about two weeks. and the trans was about a quart and a half low. we filled it up tonight and it is still makeing the nosie and it does not go with engine rpms. it is not slipping or acting funny, it is shifting perfect. so what could it be ? and the trans has 221,000 miles on it.

thanks

Are you sure it'* the trans and not a axle, brake, or tire?

I tick that doesn't change with RPM can be any number of things...exhaust leak, loose fasteners, etc. I'm not suspecting the transmission right now, but more info is needed and you need to dig a little deeper under the car and see if you can find any other source.

Trans or engine noise should change with RPM. Loose flex plate to TC bolts would only tick when there was movement, which still changes with RPM.
