Default trans

I have 214,000 on my bonneville I went to get trans looked at they dropped the pan and found junks of brass,metal and there was a alot of black stuff they said it was my clutches burning up they told me it could go at any time and the longer i wait the more money it will be 1100 to 1600 to rebuild does that seem right

Mine costed well over $2000

also bonneville is spelled with an E

Unfortunately, that sounds about right. :( It quite often runs more, especially if you have HD parts put in.

i paid 1300 for mine and it was a reman hey....... its for a 94 sse too wow do you wanna buy it it has 4k on it

When they dropped the pan, did they at least replace the old filer before they buttoned it back up? And although the trans MIGHT fail at Anytime, why would/should it cost more when it does??? I'd drive it until the trans is Really giving you the "slip" and in the mean time go to another trans shop and get another estimate. BTW....that ol' trans has had a nice life.
