sometimes when i accelerate my car makes a winding out noise... at first i thought it might be my tranny slipping, but my roomate says its a traction control sound... can anyone verify this? o ya, it happens more when its slippery or icey, so i think he might be right...
It might be as when I first got my car.. the traction control and ABS when active sounds like Tranny gears grinding
. I was first shocked and scarred that the tranny was bad.. but found out later on that it'* normal after talkin to a few members here. Best way to find out is find a nice patch of ice / snow and stomp on it so you know the traction control will kick in so you can familiarize yourself with the sound of it.. same with ABS.. find a patch of snow or ice and slamm on the brakes and hear and feel how the ABS respond.. in my 97.. it sounds like grinding gears.. but it'* ok.. just ABs pulsating and all...
