Tranny shift problems - smooth shifting vs. terrible shfting
93 SE bonnie 118,000 miles
I'm not sure if this is a tranny problem or sensors regulating shifting between the engine and tranny.
Here'* the behavior - some days the car will shift at the proper shift points thru 1-2-3-OD and also downshift smoothly when the gas pedal is depressed - and show good pickup speed at downshift. The next days the shift points are way off - shifting from first to second to third is way off - engine RPM'* very high before shift occurs and shifts are rough/jerky. Especially overdrive shift - very violent shaky shift into OD - once in OD engine/tranny shakes the car for maybe 3 or 4 minutes before smoothing out.
Any thought?
