Question Tranny Service ...bands...?

Based off of https://www.gmforum.com/t279185/

Looking into servicing the tranny in about a week and got to thinking, mind you its a 94 ssei, and i work at a gm dealership, now our service manager was talking to a customer and told him that when you do it yourself, you usually change the fluid and the filter, but our tech will tighten the bands as well which is something that most shops and DIYers forget to...
is that something one of us can do and if so how exactly would one do it?
just food for thought, and pre-service answers

On the 4T65 and 4T60 there is no way to service or tighten the bands according to the FSM'*. I've had a couple apart and don't see any way for a person to gain access to the bands except by pulling the forward or reverse servos. And there is no adjustment in them or anything in the FSM about adjusting them.

If there is a way to adjust them, most of us would like to hear how it'* done. Please ask the questions.

After reading that my first thought was, no adjustment. But I thought no, I'll wait for Bill to answer this. Sounds like someone saying my service is better because I do this and that.
