I have a 93 ssei with the 4t60E with traction control and performance shift. The tranny is shot and I have a 93 olds 98 parts car with the same tranny(minus the traction control and performance shift features) The tranny shops are telling me that it will not work because of the traction control and perf shift. The gm dealers are telling me it will work as long as I use the electronics from my tranny. Anybody with some experience on this subject your help would be greatly appreciated.also the olds 98 is not supercharged and both trannies have the same final drive ratio. Thanx in advance!!!
your SSEI has the 4T60-E HD version, you could use the olds one but it isnt as strong as the HD version, and the Superchaged torque will frag that olds one, not today and maybe not tomarrow, but soon enough
and the Perf/normal buttons are controlled by the PCM ot change the shift points of the car

I thought */c cars had a specific final drive ratio and the n/a cars had a couple specific final drive ratios as well. Under that ***-umption, i was thinking that the olds had to have been supercharged?

I think I got something like a 2.84 in my SSEi and the N/A'* have like a 3.06 or a 3...........17? I think
you are right. I believe that most/all NA cars have the 3.06, there are exceptions but for arguments sake NA=3.06. Now the SSEi with the HD version has the 2.84. I know for a fact that Buicks and Olds have different trans options, I believe that the buick and the olds have a option for a 2.84 and a 3.33 ratio on a NA application
FR2 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.93
FW2 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 3.06
F17 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.84
F79 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.97
GX3 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 3.33
I know that the 3.06,2.84 and the 3.33 could be had in N/A applications The 2.93, 2.84 and the 2.97 could be had in the SC applications in the HD version
Willwren where are you??????
