No, hard hitting second gear in an L67 is NOT good for long-term wear of GEARS. It'* better for clutches, but not gears.

Default transmission hard shift from first to second

You Guys are AWESOME -- re: for a hard transmission shift from 1st to 2nd, you suggested "Check the vacuum line to vacuum modulator for cracks or leaking." I did just that.. the 7/32" vacuum hoses connectors for the hard tubing was all craked and dry rotted. I replaced two each 2 inch sections of hose -- problem fixed.. tranny is sifting smooth as butter on a summer day. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
