treat her good and she'll last another 100.000. These 3800 engines are just about as bulletproof as they come.

Congrats! That'* great. At this point, who cares what goes wrong with it. Larry Burkett, this financial wizard guy says that the cheapest car to own is the one you have right now. Putting in a $1800 tranny is cheaper than jumping $200 or more a month on a car payment on a newer car.
Just keep up the maintenance on it and as long as you enjoy the car, keep driving it.

Congrats! I keep my car in top shape but my trans went on Tuesday 4-8-03 in the morning. I thought ok I change my fluid and filter at abt 12- 15,000 mile intervels. The car has 80k miles on it. How could this happen? Im told it just happens. No way to get around it. My car will be done tomorrow and I only have to pay $50 because of the used car lots warranty which I have 4k more miles of coverage on. They wont pay for a new or rebuild just a used one.

Congrats and join the club. I changed out a good engine at 160,000 because I believed a garage and didn't check myself. It was the coil pack. Now has 229,000 with original tranny( never rebuilt). Never any tranny problems.
