Tranny
Well it seems the o-ring substitution for the clips worked okay, as I haven't had any trouble yet. But now I just found that I have a minor leak with the radiator coolant somewhere... I think... and I also have the tranny running dry alot. I have to refill the tranny fluid before I drive the car every time now cause the dip stick is dry. I think I have to replace the gasket, what do you guys think?
BTW do your cars rev past 8000 rpms easily? Mine does it at every other turn, and now and then for straightaways, weird... cause I let go of the gas pedal too and it still goes up...??? Any comments?

If you want to know how to do the trans fluid and filter go here. http://www.bonnevilleclub.com:/forum...opic.php?t=349
Usually you will get a new gasket along with a new filter kit.
I think your tach is bad. I find it hard to believe that your engine (which redlines at 5k IIRC) could ever touch anything past 6k. If you were hitting 8k you would be breaking pushrods and valve springs easily.

I've never hit over 5000rpms. what you might wana try just a thought cuz it helps is changing your air filter if yours is clogged up the air isnt gettin into the engine right.
about ur leak if its not from the radiator specifially it might b in the rubber part between the radiator hose by the thermostat and the other part. thats what i got but its a very minor leak dont evne know if its there.

If you manually shift it into the specified gear it will hold it until 5500rpm, which is about 45mph and 85mph respectively. And if say I am doing 60 and throw the tranny in 1st, it will drop down into 2nd, then hit 1st once I slow to 35mph or so. It appears on my car at least the computer has built-in safeguards for the trans.
