The TCS and ABS are one in the same in a weird manner... Both use the ABS system..
The abs system will go through a self test between 14-15 mph, usually between first and second gear, you will hear a momentary grinding as the ABS system does a self test...
You will also hear this noise if you are hard on the brakes, say in a pannic situation and there is wheel slip detected, once the wheel slip is detected the ABS system will kick in and you will hear the grinding and feel the pulsating from the ABS pump..
If you have traction control, when wheel slip is detected the TCS will kick in and you will also hear the ABS pump grinding...
There are diffrent brake system computers as well, EBCM and EBTCM, the names changed somewhere along the line as well if memory serves.. EBCM is Electronic Brake Control Module, and EBTCM is Electronic Brake Traction Control Module... I hope I got these right.. Too tired to remember...
But in either situation its normal to hear the ABS pump grinding, its just working its magic
