Default Toast? -overheated-

I went to jasper national park for the last few days, and trying to go up one of the mountain roads... I was cookin pretty bad...
95-110 C is normal operating temp.
I was doing 130 degrees C (into the red on the gauge- 140 is where the gauge stops)
Then it(DIC) told me to turn the AC off.. so i did, then I stopped. turned the car off (big no no?) then it started to pop and banging and gurgling.. so I fired her back up(now the DIC was saying -ENGINE OVERHEATED 8 -),
Next I fleww down the mountain at 120km/h- (another big no no)- (speedlimits 50km/h) by the time i got to the bottom I was sitting at 105degrees C so i went into town quickly... stopped, and I left it sitting for a few hours so I could accuratly check fluids to make sure they didnt burn up...
I think its time to get my oil changed... maybe rad flush?
I should get a pusher fan(mine stopped working last winter).. (on the front of the rad)

Your rad fan doesnt work? Get that fixed asap.

you should have left the car idle so the coolant could circulate but with no rad fan I'm not sure how the engine would cool off?

How was the trip home? Burning any oil or any coolant leaks now?

It did cool down quickly... from 140-100 degrees C took probably 3minutes... (I still have one fan working, the one on the front of the rad stopped working)

I dont think theres any coolent leaks.. but there was nothing in the resiever so i might have overflown it...
I havnt checked the level in the tank (because its probably still warm)

The whole way home I had the temp at 110 but I had the ac full blast, I was pulling hills, and a strong head wind.
