Default Tires...again.

(...I did use the Search function, but, I want updated information if you've got it...)

'92 SSE with body color green tri-spoke 16" wheels.
I'm guessing they are 7" wide.

The tires on it are Firestones, all the same size, Firehawks on 3, an Affinity on the RF; 225/60R16'*.

I'd like to replace them with BFG Radial T/A'* or one of the other BFG'*.
White letters would be OK with me on the body color wheels, but, blackwalls may be what I have to use.

If I were to use a slightly fatter tire, I do NOT want any rubbing or hammering of the car to make them fit, and, I don't want to lower the car.
What size can I use that will give me what I want?

If you're staying with 16'*, 245 55'* won't rub, and will give you no speedo error. 255'* will fit with some minor sheetmetal bending for fit. I think 245'* should be more than sufficient for an everyday driver. I wish I'd had the money to do it!
