Tire Size
What would be the best tire size for my 97 SSEi,225/60/16,235/60/16,235/55/16? I've got the ( lace ) wheels,16 inch. Got michelins on it now and have to add air constently, as a result the side walls are wore out. And what would be a good US made brand tire to put on it, all season? I was told the 235/60/16 would rub.

Can we go witha taller tire. Im not sure what I have but when I priced them, holy bat guano bat man. Oh I have the goodyear regatta. I need a less expensive tire. In about 3 months.
The 225/60s are a good size. Remember that tire choice depends somewhat on how you drive and intend to drive.
Mine is an SE and I don't do any drag strips or major pushing, so prefer a good all-around touring tire. I currently have Michelin Symmetrys on there and consider them one of the smoother tires I've had on there. A bit pricey but worth it, IMO.

Since our Bonneville is mostly a point A to point B car, I went with a tire with modest performance aspects and long life and good ride characteristics. I picked up a set of BFGoodrich Premier Touring tires from Costco for about $70 each installed. These have been an outstanding tire for us. 70k mile warranty, they are quiet, handle surprisingly well, incredibly sure footed in the rain and ride perfectly. We went with the 225/60/16, but a 235/55 should work as well. Going taller on a car is generally not a good idea.
