Yes, a TPS would throw a code. But something tells me it'* not your TPS. That wont make the RPM go that high. I was working on a car last week with a bad wire on the TPS. The computer showed the TPS at 100% at times with the idle at normal. Get that code scanned and lets see what you have.

well i am getting code 21 tps sensor out of range. i've replaced this part before and i know that it is slightley adjustable, but I dont have my mulit meter to check what the voltage is. Think it would be worth a try to see if i can adjust it or am i pissing up a rope?

what voltage should be read at idle?

P.*. is this the ECM, would it matter if it was off of a supercharged model or not? Is there any way fo knowing if it is off of a SC model?

well i took a look at the ecm that is currentley in the car and it has "Serv. No 16141470 BCCF" and the one my dad purchased is "Serv. No 16141470 BCFN". So i pluged the new one in and the car hardly ran, my guess is that the new ecm is for a SSEI perhaps? any help is appreciated

Did you swap the EPROM chip from the old ECM to the new one? If not, it is located behind that small plate on the ecm, looking at the pic above, its behind the plate with the yellow #'* 650880. Try putting your old chip in the new ECM and see how it runs.

It very well could be a wiring issue that didn't take to well to gettin wet. I do not have any particular suggestions on how to easily test wires, maybe someone else does.
I remember back about a month ago when I was powerspraying my engine to get ready to replace my LIM/UIM I accidentally hit the vacuum boots on the throttle body by the fuel pressure regulator, and when I started the car back up it idled at 2800 rpm until it got warm. Turns out a previous owner used spark plug boots to ghetto rig up a vacuum connector. I went and bought the factory replacements and it fixed the issue. So there could be a SLIGHT possibility that there is a good size vacuum leak.

if there was a big vaccume leak, i dont think it would throw a high voltage read code. I guess its possible though. I think i need to go get a DMM and check if the power is feeding directly to ground
