That'* pretty normal for a NA Series II, but to protect your car, most of us will highly reccommend a 180° Thermostat, and a tranny cooler (yes, ANOTHER one if you already have one). Heat is the biggest killer of the 3800. You can really buy some insurance by doing this, but it can wait 'til next spring for now!

Only go with the 180 T-Stat if you live where Winter doesn't raise it'* ugly head or else your heater will not put out enough heat to keep you warm! Up here in Canada it can get even colder than Chi-Town! That'* why I'm sticking with the 195 stock T-Stat for the winter months! During the summer months I'll go with the 180 though!

Most of the guys that have the cooler stat leave 'em in all year.....just block off part of the rad if you don't get enough heat. I would definitely change, it, but considering the season, do it next spring.
