Hey Folks,
Here is the run down.
Monday night waterpump went out and the temp spiked to 225. Took it all apart and prepped for Tuesday install. Got New waterpump on. no leaks that I can see. Drove home from work tonightand the temp spiked to 225 again. So
1Did the themostat get screwed because the car spiked to 225
2. Is there any way to find if its leaking somewhere that I cant see and cant smell.
coolant level is at limit when car is stopped and cold. mix is 60/40. South Dakota is getting hammered with cold
pulley and belts are fine no grinding audible so what am I missing
BTW thanks for all your help last time on tearing the center console apart and the new struts on the rear. Really appreciated it.

Did you check the coolant level in the radiator or in the over flow tank? Did you burp the thermostat housing? My guess is you have air in the cooling system.

I guess I dont know where the burp is or how to burp the coolant bleeder valve or whatever. I saw the post for someone replacing a 94 waterpump but mine was a little different setup I had to remove engine mount, pulley brackets, get the power steering mup out of the way, so I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't know where or how to "burp" the system

Look on the top of the thermostat housing. Is there a screw on top of it? Loosen that screw and that will bleed the cooling system. It will need to be up to temp to do this. Be careful, the coolant will be hot.

Well after burping the car and filling the reservoir up almost full twice the car is running good. stat stays at 195 as it should. Heater/defrost blows hot air.
Dan... Thank you so much, I'm going to be able to see my wife this Christmas (haven't seen her since the 13th) This will be a christmas to remember. And you helped make it possible. I cant tell you how much I appreciate your help.
