I'm guessing it'* the TCC, but idk, wanted to know what the experts thought
.
My tranny is acting very oddly right now. When I shift down, I loose a lot of power, but when I shift up, it'* fine.
For Example:
Driving on the highway, I shift down to pass, it shifts fine, but I don't have as much power as I would if I was in the gear to begin with.
Another example:
Accelerating hard, shifting into second, third, fourth, there'* no problem
BTW, how exactly do you change the TCC?

Well from what I know, I changed one on a Grand Marquis...but these aren't exactly RWD. On that one, it obviously was not electronic, so it was just sitting on the input shaft of the trans and slipped right off. So I guess the hardest part would be getting the trans out. and unbolted from the engine. I do believe you can get a TCC from Advance.
This is ONLY personal experience with a different trans. Only an opinion, not fact.
Good Luck.

Or is it rpm related? At higher rpm'* you lose power? If so, get that Cat tested.
Otherwise, get a scantool on the car. Watch the shifts and the TC slip RPM'*. No check engine light? What'* the fluid look and smell like WARM (after a drive)?

The SES light has been flashing on me periodically, but not after it slips. I attributed that to my LIM gaskets (running rich).
And no, it'* actually at low RPMs
