Always had a very noisy sunroof. Read the post on the one piece gasket replacement.
Took a look at my sunroof and sure enough a 1 inch gap on passenger side. Explains why I had to replace headliner. The part is about 60bucks at GM parts and about 50 for install at a trim shop.
Stopped at Home Depot and bought some high density weatherstrip 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch with a sticky side. Cut a piece to fit and bingo wind noise 95% gone.
I still may have gasket replaced.

Humm.. got a link to that thread? I notice my sunroof is noisy when open (unlike the 00+ space shuttles that are nice and quiet compared to mine ). Maybe I"ll have to look into that also

Try adjusting it, check the "Techinfo" section.
if that doesn't work, it'* time for a gasket, again the "Techinfo" section can help and I also did sometime back a "How To" on my site(see Sig Below)

Adjusting as in ensurein it'* aligned correctly? I may try the weatherstrip method.. but question is how do you know if it needs replacement or alignment?? Other then obvious leaking and or torn edges.

When I did my 93, I couldn't really tell if it was bad. It didn't really look all that bad.
So I tried to adjust it using the manual, but it didn't seem to be any better.
After that I figured it was time to replace the gasket. After I got it all in, it took some tinkering to get it to fit and operate smooth. The manual goes into this long procedure of adjusting the top 2mm higher in the back and being able to insert a business care here and there. I found that if it isn't adjusted right it won't operate smooth and hangs up. With this design, not all of the water is kept out, that is why it has the drains. Check the drains, check the drains, Check the drains.
I did my friends 94 SSE and his drain hosed were crap, one was even off inside the headliner, we searched the boneyard and found some good ones to replace them. His gasket looked good also, but still needed replacing. They get old and get crushed down from opening and closing, the heat and cold over all those years. let me know if you have any questions, I've done 3 of them. The sunroom and the superchager coupler are the two biggest problems with these cars.

Did you find the need to lube the gaskets with Vasalene or another similar product? Mine keeps getting stuck in the right rear corner when going from vent to open. Adjusting the height has no affect on this alignment. It actually needs to go forward just slightly to correct but there are no provisions for forward/back adjustemts.

After I replaced the gasket, all of the noise was gone. Big improvement.

Nope, like I said - if it doesn't operate smooth, it still need a little adjusting. Just take your time and give it a little up/down adjustment here and there. You may have it cocked, try moving the sticking side a little forward.
The book says it should be 2mm higher in the back than the front, which isn't much help (couldn't figure out how to measure that). so just take your time and keep your cool.
