I have a 97 Bonnevile se and needed to replace the 6 subframe bushings. I got 4 of them done using the Dorman universal fit bushings but they unfortunately don't fit the rear outside position on the subframe. Apparently the dealer says they aren't made anymore so I'm wondering if anyone knows if i can use a different part or is there a way to get a bushing to fit there?

Depends on the thickness. You may have to shave it down, or get rid of all the others and install all hockey pucks.

wow ! at least you got holes to mount those bushings and cradle to subframe..I don't have the 2 for the rear of the cradle.i barely had body left to put the 2 rears in..the 2 middle had good unrotted holes,the fronts have good holes too but the radiator bottom rail is rotted out. so it'* front(under bumper),mids and rears in that order...my rears are just holding somewhat tight in their holes but not super tight like the mids...when I purchased mine I was not going to pay their full price for oe parts or maybe I did..i forget all that but I do know that they were listed for a grand prix and not a bonnie..i did the homework on the specs and found that they were the same size for bonnie specs and a whole lot cheaper too..hockey pucks sound awesome i'm sure they work great in warmer weather but what about zero or below temps..in my opinion with any neoprene,etc plastics from what I was told tend to get so much stiffer in the cold and by common sense sounds right...the point with bushings is to connect but yet be isolated from the frame to absorb shock,wouldn't that not have enough play and be too rigid to absorb shock?..idk, I've lost my Bronx redneck hustle and imagination on getting some things fixed in a pinch on a low budget..i get my cars up and running,maybe not at optimum but they run.i'm the shadetree mechanic who'* been living in Albany,ny for 25 years now and have lost that hustle and time to be creative and experimental on body work stuff ,which I hate doing...I've neglected taking care of my frames and bodies and am now paying the price for it today,lol!.. my motors and trannies I've been strict over the years especially my old ford motor which has got about 250K on it and still running strong(sorry hate to brag but..),this used when I got it 94' bonnie se has been nothing but problems,the unibody **** frame,obd1 database with a 16 pin obd2 connector,my fuel sender,etc ,etc is all garbage.the dime a dozen motor I like though, pretty tough.i like the bonnie feel and style but not the problems.this was probably a bad year for them and I got it.i believe that this will be my last bonnie,it was my first.damn! and I like the big bubble car feel, I fell in love with her but she'* letting me down again with another problem which I will be opening up again in my old thread that I started.if I can add a pic of my redneck way of charging a spare battery,you should get a kick out of it but i'm sure many others have done this too..stay tuned for 'runs erratic' thread.thanks for reading.
