stupid motor mount
ok so I am attempting to replace the water pump (against the advice of one of the admins) and I wish I would have listened because everything went great until the half of the motor mount that attatched to the car....won't budge. I have sprayed the bolts to death with WD 40 and even used a fence post for leverege on both top bolts...and they don't budge. I can't slide out the last bolt to remove the water pump without removing the half that connects to the enigine. There isn't enough room to slide it out....trust me. What would you do???
You'll have just as much trouble getting it off at the wrecker, so don't even consider that an option.
You need to keep working on it. WD-40 isn't helping. It'* a Water Displacing solvent, not a penetrant or lubricant. It evaporates before it can do any good. WD-WATER DISPLACING. That'* what it was invented for.
Get PB Blaster to penetrate a stuck bolt, or pre-heat it with a torch (mildly).

If you don't have a service manual of some type, and you've never done this before, don't do it.

Please continue in your other topic. We discourage double-posting on the same problems.
