we went into town for supper and the car was fine then after supper the wife started backing out of the spot and the car was like bucking so she got out so i could drive home. the fluid seemed a little foamy. i dont know i try to get manual cars mostly. anyway once i backed out and i got on the road it was fine until i got home and tried to back into the garage and in felt like i had the brake on while trying to go backward. im going to have the wife get some fluid and a filter tomorrow. but if that doesnt help i guess im in for a rebuild or change out?

Check the pan when you change the filter. Wonder if you broke a reverse band. You would see chunks in the pan. Also look up in the holes and look at the bands.
You sure if the band breaks there'll be chunks? I thought when one of the bands broke it usually stayed in the basic area, and didn't engage because it couldnt' be squeezed properly.

there was nothing in the pan, and no metal on the magnet. the fluid was brown but not really smelly. no foam on the dipstick either. fluid and filter had no affect on the condition. now it works fine when you are driving the only time it does anything is when im at a complete stop in forward or reverse it shutters when you try to take off, like if it was manual and the clutch was grabby when you are letting it up.
