Think it is more complicated than that with the vent to a vapor canister. Need some better advise from someone with knowledge on the evac system.

I just drove it til it stumbled, took off the gas cap and it made no difference. Like you said, it may be more complicated...

I'm at the dealer now. Looks like the fuel pressure is low. They're doing more checking so I should know what'* going on soon.

I replaced the fuel filter last week. The pump is probably original as far as I know. I bought the car with 52K on it and now it has 120K. They are replacing the pump now. Pressure was under 30. It checked out fine at the other place yesterday.

I made it back home and the car ran great after the dealer replaced the fuel pump. These guys were pros; I may need to take back all the bad stuff I've said about dealers over the years.
