Default Steering/Front Vibration at Slow Speeds ? ***FIXED!***

sometimes, when i am making right hand turns while going under about 20 mph, I get this weird loose/vibration sensation from the front end, and through the steering wheel. A good example is when I am turning into my driveway, and when i turn the wheel, it feels like i am driving over gravel or some kind of grate. the steering is straight when driving on the highway.

possible power steering pump hose?

UPDATE 1/19/07 : ENDED UP BEING THE WHEEL BEARING RIGHT FRONT! Just thought I'd let everyone know in case they were experiencing the same problem

Sounds like a possible bad CV joint on the drive axle. It is easy to look at the cv joints and check the boots, that is the first sign for those. It could also be the rack and pinion or power steering pump.

Oh, you'll know! How about a big green slimy mess everywere if that thing breaks open on you. I guess that doesn't always have to happen but that was my experience.

You only get it on right-hand turns?

Probably need more detail than what you've provided. Any other oddities...like a pulsing in the steering wheel at low speeds while going straight?

A wheel bearing could present a similar symptom as well.

A newer tire with a broken belt can manifest itself with a pulsing in the steering wheel at low speeds and go away at higher speeds.

I'm surprised Boosty didn't abuse you for this:
