As the title says, the thing has been fallin on its face under heavier throttle, usually on longer road trip type driving, highway conditions. First inclination was spark, but people kept saying it was vapor lock and other weird stuff. (yeah right)

anyway, i pulled codes, and got a 43 which is "Electronic Spark Control Circuit"

upon a search, I saw that another thread says to upgrade to delco II ignition? what does that run, what kinda work is entailed....??
any help is appreciated.

I'm not expert on the codes and your year... I do have knowedge on the upgrade.

The work involved is removing the old single coil pack setup and installing a mounting plate that bolts on with 3 bolts, then laying the ICM, and 3 coils on it.. installing 6 small bolts to hold them down and reconnecting the plug wires and ICM connector.

Pretty easy and straight forward.

Delco Type II Ignition Coil Swap

It is basically the swapping into your car a newer model ignition module from a '93+. Not too difficult.

well i got like a brain fart going but once you find out the problem, let me know if you need help changing it out!

and if you are having trouble diagnosing it.. maybe you guys could swap Green'* on there for testing.

Your 92 L67 will already have the type II ignition (three seperate coils with the terminals all on the same side for the plug wires). Your code typically has something to do with the knock sensor, or ignition control module and coils, from my experience. My brother recently had a code 43 in his 92 L27 and it would not even start. A fresh ICM fixed the problem entirely. The first thing I would try is remove the coils, ICM, and bracket, clean the ground contact points (there will be a wire grounded to the bracket), inspect/clean the wiring connector, and apply some dielectric grease to the back of the ICM where it contacts the bracket and on the 6 prongs that the coils slide on. And take the ICM to Autozone or some other parts place and they can usually test them.
