Gear ratio was determined trans type and engine:
92-94 L27 is 3.06 (usually)
95-96/97 L36 is 3.06 if equipped with 4T60.
97 and newer L36 with 4T65 is 3.05
92-95 L67 is 2.97
96 L67 is also 2.97 despite being Series 2 (Still had the 4T60)
97 and newer L67 is 2.93 with the 4T65.

The Apperance package was not only limited to the 93-95 SLE... It could be added to any SE and it was simply called the Delux( spelling ) trim package...

and also when the SLE package came out where the SLE and SSE looked alike, the SSE was available with the HUD whereas it wasnt even offered on the SLE, thats my contribution to this thread

very interesting stuff. I merely asked the question because I know a guy with a '99 SLE who said his car was the same as my '98 SSE and knew that couldn't be true. I have to admit my knowledge on the bonneville (even though we have had a '88 SSE, and currently have a '98 SSE, '00 SSEi, and '01 SE in the family) is much less than that of the third gen f-body, of which I can tell you what most RPO codes mean and what color wires connect to what relays.
