Default Squeeeeeeek

Somewhere in the engine compartment there is a squeek..... It is probably one of the pullies, tensioner or belt..... I saw on another post where I could use a stick to find out which one it is....... How excatly do I do this????? I do know that it stops when I am driving and gets louder when sitting still or in park.....
Thanks for your help.....

Do you have one belt, or two. Pull the belt and turn each pulley by hand, how do they feel?

Put a couple drops of water on the belt whiel the car is running. Does the squeak go away?
Change belt.

If the noise remains, turn motor off and untension the belt. Turn each by and and replace the one that'* bad.
