Squeaking from front driver's wheel
Maybe it'* not brakes. Does the squeak remain constant whether you use the brakes or not? Is it squeaking as you turn, also (dry upper strut bearing or ball joint)?
How about a tire rub somewhere?
A wheel turn puts lots of things in different positions and stresses. Have you given it a good greasing lately? Repacked the wheel bearings (if you can do it on Bonnevilles -- I've never tried)?
Get underneath and look real hard all under that area. Mechanics (including yours truly) can leave things hanging that they forgot to attach again. Also get some one with real good ears to listen inside and out. Sometimes the noise isn't always exactly where you think it is.

Also, if you've replaced the grease fitting witha right angle one, make sure its not pointed toward the rim. My wifes rubbed the rim on one side when I did that and only when you turned (left for me)
and the dust sheild, if that bent in to far that can rub too. Another of my Opps.
